Dr. Knasel's speech to people of Saltadere
Bishop Desinond Jean, Priests of the Diocese especially Father Petina Bon jour tout moun. Congratulations to you the citizens of Saltadere and members of St. Michel Parish. We thank you for sharing this special day with us. On behalf of Father Joseph, Mary Lukyamuzai, pastor of the Holy Comforter, and Father Joseph Barranger, pastor of St. Thomas Aquinas, I express to you their prayers for the clinic as a blessing to the community and that the clinic will be a sign of God’s grace present in our twinning relationship. We are happy to be with you today and we believe that this day marks the beginning of regular healthcare for Saltadere – not only for the sick but for the well that they will remain healthy. We hope that the clinic will collaborate with the school in health education. We are happy to be with our friends from Hinche sharing in the joy of this day. We say thank you to all the people of Saltadere. It is your determination and hard work that makes this day possible. I would like to thank you Fr Rene Blot for inviting me to Saltadere 10 years ago. Thank you to Father Ilric for telling us about your dream of a clinic. Thank you to Father Petina for guiding the project. Thank you to Engineer Leo for this beautiful building we see today. Thank you to the parishioners of our Charlottesville parish who have visited Saltadere over the years especially Bob Fromm who sends a greeting to all. Thanks to those who cannot visit but still wish to make your dream possible by donating funds to the project. Thank you to the Diocese of Richmond for advice over the project. Thank you to the Bishop of Hinche for his encouragement. Finally thank you to the team visiting with me today.
